Hit The Ground by Magnolia Rising
Devynn Hart and Trea Swindle follow-up their promising debut as Magnolia Rising.
These two look as exciting as they sound, a really original discovery this week. They are back with a second single, the follow-up to Dream Running. Hit the Ground is this weekās new one and it is every bit as cinematic and catchy as the cover artwork.
Magnolia Rising describe themselves as āa remarkable music duo from Mississippi, characterized by their unique blend of country, rock, and gospel sounds. Their art resonates with themes of resilience and empowerment, captivating audiences everywhere.ā
You might know them from their prolific success with Chapel Hart and this new music is just as exciting. Youāre along at the right time, in on the ground floor.
āThis song captures what Magnolia Rising is all about: rebirth, resilience, and the fire to keep going when life knocks you down. āDream Runningā reminded us that our dreams are still alive, but āHit the Groundā is where talk turns into action. Weāre not just chasing the dream anymore, weāre living it, working for it, and coming back stronger every time.ā ā Devynn Hart
Iāve been bogged down
Beat up buckled in a broke truck
Busted up starter
Dead in the water
Chewed up spit out
Thereās a lot of energy in this song and it makes the lyrics feel angry. It has a wonderful, dry crackle to it. Lots of plosives and imagery of death, fighting and being spat out. Do they have a score to settle? A point to prove? Hell yeah!
āHit the Ground was truly born in the ashes; from the nights we almost quit, the moments that almost broke us, and the dreams that wouldnāt die. It aināt about being tough; itās about takinā the hit, spittinā the dirt out, and pressing on anyway.
Writing Hit the Ground with Bandana Cheyenne was pure energy from start to finish. It wasnāt forced, it just happened! The vibe was right, and once the fire was lit, we just ran with it.ā ā Trea Swindle
This is not your ordinary country music. It does have some steel guitar but it has loudness and sounds great turned up to 11. It has more energy than most country tunes and feels more pop-rock to me. Iāve had it on repeat for a couple of hours and itās still getting better.
